Why You Cannot Negotiate with Trump

Did you notice that whenever Trump appears, he has his mind set about how things are going to be. He sounds way too sure of everything. Watch him tackle one of the CIA Director, Gina Haspel.

Why does Trump sound so stern and so sure? Why cannot people negotiate with Trump properly? Well, I was just reading Chapter 57, textbook, “How to be Successful at Sponsorship Sales” (Allen, S.; 2015).

By aiming high you are more likely to be dealing with someone who can discuss options beyond simply “yes” and “no”… someone who can shape up a deal and not just respond to the situation as it appears at face value. This is an important tactic because if you negotiate at a lower level where only “yes” or “no” decisions can be made, you run the risk that if the answer is not “yes” it will have to be “no” – not ideal circumstances for a win-win outcome.

Decision makers are great at negotiating things and modifying presented ideas so that both parties feel satisfied. I think that Trump never does this because he is not the decision maker but is actually a tool created by someone else.  I feel that someone made him to be the President of America to create drama; and, I also feel that they are butchering his character to appease the world until the countries that are under attack are taken over by America. Its the usual Good Cop, Bad Cop routine that detectives play to make victims do what they need them to do.

Anyways, back to the rest of the subject matter! You must have heard that Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was a business professional who left quite a mark on the rest of the world. Muslim Student Association of University of Alberta has created this document to discuss some helpful details of Mohammad’s (peace be upon him) professionalism. You must have also heard that Trump and some other current business professionals have narcissistic tendencies.  Narcissism is linked to Power and Control, which actually shows not only in behaviour but also in speech.

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was different because he used to forgive others; establish charity; and, act on behalf of the oppressed. Jenny Dyer’s article “The Only Way to Heal A Narcissist” discusses this concept as quoted below:

We all win when we listen and act.

Whether it’s through charity, educating others, or advocacy, your actions on behalf of others doesn’t just benefit you—it benefits them as well.
